short_descriptionWikitext

Thorpe Hall (also spelt as 'Thorp Hall' and referred to as 'Thorpe Hall Farm') is a listed 18th century building that was the seat of Thorpe-on-the-Hill's local gentry, notably the Gascoigne and Proctor families. While the rainwater heads date the building at 1735, the hall incorporated a late-medieval timber framed wing. Once boasting "exceptionally fine decoration", it now stands derelict.

long_descriptionWikitext

The building is privately owned but vacant due to its "very bad" state, including a collapsed ceiling in one of the rooms. It is a priority A listed building meaning that there is an immediate risk of further rapid deterioration or loss of fabric and no solution on its future has been agreed.
